The project consists of new
construction of an elementary school campus, including 34 classrooms
and associated support facilities.
The school is named after Louise
Foussat, a 96-year-old descendant of the Luiseno Indians who grew up
along the San Luis Rey River in Oceanside but was forced to attend
school in Riverside because she was an Indian. Back then, American
Indians were not allowed to attend school with white students.
The school is scheduled to open for
the 2007-2008 school year. |
