This project involved new construction
of a middle school to accommodate up to 700 sixth- through
seventh-grade students. Located immediately adjacent Calavera Hills
Elementary School, the project alleviated overcrowding in
Carlsbad Unified School District's elementary schools, most of which
currently include sixth graders.
The project included a two-story building with 19 conventional
classrooms, three science labs, a computer lab room, and a special
education classroom. A second building serves multiple purposes
and includes a gym, a stage, two classrooms for art and music,
and shower / locker facilities.
Outside athletic facilities include
two basketball courts, a baseball / softball field, and a crushed
granite track circling a soccer field. |
