The high winds and extreme temperature changes of the
high desert area influenced the design of this unique high school campus.
Classrooms open onto interior courtyards so that students are protected
from wind, and wide overhangs provide shelter from sun, rain, and snow.
Building materials were chosen for their durability.
This complex project is located approximately 20
miles from Littlerock High School, which was simultaneously constructed by
C. E. Wylie Construction Co. The coordination and manpower
required to complete over $45 million of school construction in the desert
was extensive.
