This
project involved new construction of 14 buildings on a 12-acre site in
Oceanside, CA. This
elementary school included
classrooms, playfields, an administrative building, and a multi-purpose
building with food preparation facilities.
The school is named after Robert Nichols,
a school board trustee who died of heart problems after 16 years on the
board. A retired communications foreman for the Marine Corps Civil
Service, Nichols also served on the board of directors for the Oceanside
Humane Society.
The school is located in Oceanside's
most rapidly developing area, on the northeast side of Oceanside around
Highway 76. Nichols holds about 800 students in kindergarten through
fifth grades.
