SAN DIEGO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT PROJECTSCOMPLETE
 

Proposition MM is a $1.51 billion bond measure that funds modernization of 165 existing schools and construction of 16 new and rebuilt schools to support student achievement in the San Diego Unified School District.

Proposition MM projects completed by C. E. Wylie Construction Co. include:

  • Mead Elementary School
    $15-20 Million
    Architect: R. J. Maus, Architects
    This project involved new construction of an elementary school, one two-story and two one-story buildings, lunch court shelter, covered walkways, parking lot, paved playground area, playground equipment, joint-use field, perimeter fencing, site utilities, and revisions to existing 45th Street.
     

  • Chollas Elementary School Modernization
    $1-5 Million
    Architect: R. J. Maus, Architects
    Work included relocation of the school administration from bldg. 400 to bldg. 800, the remodel of bldg 400 and a small section of bldg. 300. Also included is a new covered walkway from bldg. 500 to bldg. 600, a new covered entry at bldg. 800, a joint-use field, a new parking lot, perimeter fencing, revisions to Market Street, and site utilities.
     

  • Samuel Morse High School Modernization
    $5-10 Million
    Architect: The Stichler Group, Inc.

    In addition to renovation work to revitalize classrooms and to bring the school into ADA compliance, new construction added library and science classroom spaces. Work also included upgrades to structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and technology systems.
     

  • Kearny High School Modernization
    $5-10 Million
    Architect: Ruhnau Ruhnau Clarke & Associates
    Work included the following components: New science classroom building #700, including demolition of existing building #700; expansion of existing library building 1300, including site work; modernization of existing classrooms and other buildings; installation of all underground utilities; toilet room upgrades;
    and lunch shelter structure and flat work in area.
     

  • Oak Park Elementary School Modernization
    $1-5 Million
    Architect: Roesling Nakamura Architects

    The Oak Park Elementary School Modernization and Library Addition consisted of an approximately 2000 s.f. new library and 1000 s.f. new Instructional Support Services (ISS), the remodeling of toilet rooms, classroom building, auditorium, and site work related to new building, electrical, technology, and ADA upgrades.
     

  • Gompers Secondary School Modernization
    $1-5 Million
    Architect: Roesling Nakamura Architects

    The Gompers Secondary School Modernization and Library Addition consisted of renovation work at all permanent buildings, including mechanical and electrical upgrades and ADA upgrades. Work also included a remodel and addition to the library and the creation of an outdoor Literacy Garden.
     

  • Logan Elementary School Lunch Shelter
    $100,000
    Architect: Sillman Wright Architects
    The Logan Elementary School Lunch Shelter project included repair and replacement of existing glu-lam beams, installation of District-provided translucent roof assemblies, and the assembly and installation of two District-provided lunch covers.
     

  • O'Farrell Community School Modernization
    $1-5 Million
    Architect: Edward J. Cass & Associates
     

  • School for Creative and Performing Arts Modernization
    $1-5 Million
    Architect: Edward J. Cass & Associates
     

  • Taft Middle School Modernization
    $1-5 Million
    Architect: The Stichler Group, Inc.

     

  • Clay Elementary School Modernization
    $1-5 Million
    Architect: The Stichler Group, Inc.
    Completed in early 2003, this project involved new construction of a library.
     

  • Gage Elementary School Modernization
    $1-5 Million
    Architect: The Stichler Group, Inc.
